My faith in my own words:
My relationship with Jesus began when I was 12 and has grown since then. He has walked with me as my closest friend and we've been on lots of adventures together. Within the last 8 or 9 years I have been learning more about Holy Spirit and how can - and wants to - move more powerfully in my life. I am seeking Him for more of that, daily.
What I enjoy doing in my free time:
I love culture, including history, museums, live music and art. I enjoy chilling to some live music at a local venue,or kicking around the city as well as getting out in nature: walking. hiking and canoeing in the countryside. And of course - watching Red Sox games!
I am adventurous, I love to travel and embrace new cultures, foods and experiences. I try to be health conscious within moderation and try to work out several times a week in an effort to be a strong and healthy person - inside and out.
My favorite book(s) and why:
The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind, by Bill Johnson - because it rocked my world and shifted my paradigm on what normal life is. Also There is Always Enough by Heidi Baker - because it exploded my faith. Of course, the Bible - by God. But doesn't everybody say that?
My favorite places to go:
So far? Italy, Africa and India. But I'd like to check out more of the world.
What I am most passionate about in life:
I am passionate about reaching the lost with the Gospel and making multiplying disciples. I love building community and connecting people with and within the Kingdom of God. My strongest passion is for reaching Boston and New England with the transforming love of Jesus. However, I enjoy serving overseas too, and have been to Ethiopia, Kenya, India (6 times), Italy and the Dominican Republic. Thankfully, I am a part of a mission organization which reaches people at home as well as abroad.
My current occupation or what I do:
I work for a Christian Church-planting organization which offers short-term mission trips to about 50 countries. I serve in a mobilization role helping place applicants on trips, and also as part of a Marketing team.
My close friends would say my greatest strengths are:
Encouragement, evangelism, equipping and training others, and administration. I also am creative and artistic but extroverted ,so I love people.. I'm an extrovert and open communicator, but also a sensitivity to introverts who need personal space. (ENFP)
Who has had the greatest influence in my life and why:
My parents, who not only taught me about Jesus, but also opened our home and our dinner table to the nations. Through them I have developed a love for people of different cultures and walks of life. Also my old youth leader who first challenged me to live an extraordinary life of faith.
3 qualities that I'd like to find in another person:
- The Father's heart for the lost
- Humility and joyful servanthood
- Living faith rather than arguing doctrine
